Padang Merdeka is one of the best places to enjoy authentic Minang food in Jakarta. Located on Jalan Lada, right in the middle of the Kota Tua area, this restaurant offers not only delicious dishes but also a cozy and beautifully designed space that celebrates Indonesian culture. The food is top-notch! The rendang is incredibly tender and flavorful, and the ayam pop, dendeng balado, and sambal ijo were all amazing. I ate their new menu Iga Bakar but unfortunately, the meat was quite tough and not as tender as expected. You can really taste the richness of the spices in every bite. Portions are generous and everything is served fresh. The service is excellent—staff are friendly and helpful, especially if you’re not familiar with all the dishes. It’s a great place to bring friends or tourists who want to try traditional Indonesian food in a clean, comfy, and Instagram-worthy setting. Highly recommended if you're exploring Kota Tua or just craving some good Padang food!

Such a beautiful and clean restaurant to have an affordable mix dish vegetables-meat nasi padang dishes. It looks brand new, air conditioned and has a gorgeous full bathroom! Food was still warm even in the evening. I was so impressed with their hygiene standards. Cutleries was soaked in a glass of hot water and top of the straw left covered. I wish I had found this place sooner when living nearby!

We, family of four, eat a lot and finished the major dishes with thanks to hospitality and the services...and of course the tasteful minang food. The place is near to the Jakarta Museum and Fatahillah square. After spinning around the museum and surrounding places, you should completed your journey to this restaurant. The aircon running well, the cleanlines ok and the staff serving you good. The only minus point at the time we ate, is the extra loud music comes from outside of the restaurant. It was extra loud and annoyed..

Taste so good! either its really good or I was very hungry, can’t tell However the staff were late in placing the many dishes on our tables. I was halfway eating my rice. Would have picked some other foods too if I has known they have other dishes.

Foods were very delicious with ideal portion. A bit pricey I think, maybe because its located near the touristic area. Easily be packed around lunch time. Overall good experience. Probably one of the few padang restaurants I would like to try again.

This Padang restaurant is excellent. They serve in the traditional multi-plate style, with each dish sealed, and you only pay for what you eat. It's a great spot to escape the busy crowds of Kota Tua, relax, and recharge.

A very recommended padang cuisine restaurant. Their dishes all tasted great, the tunjang is delicious, their fried chicken is tasty. Priced very similar to padang pagi sore. They have their own parking lot in the back, though it is very limited.
